    Description: 
    A vertical granite slab with a relief carving of Ty Cobb in the upper half and inscriptions below and back. The bust depicts Cobb in a baseball cap and uniform with his proper right hand holding a baseball bat against his proper right shoulder.

    Remarks: 
    Cobb (1886-1961) was American League batting champion twelve times. He was the first player to be elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. He was named the "Georgia Peach" by the sportswriter Grantland Rice. Sculpture was erected by Ty Cobb Commemorative Committee, and funded by City of Royston, several businesses and civic associations.
