    Description: 
    A sculpture of a cowboy astride a Morgan horse. The cowboy, dressed in chaps and wearing a cowboy hat, rests his proper right arm on the back of the saddle and holds the horse's reins with his proper left hand. The sculpture is placed atop a rectangular base with a sloping front.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was formerly located on the east side of the square in Perry and was unveiled on the 75th anniversary of the opening of the Cherokee Strip on Sept. 14, 1968. IAS files contain related articles from The Perry Daily Journal, Jul. 31, 1968; Jan. 31, 1969; and April 5, 1969. Although the inscription base plaque notes that the piece was cast at the Bruno Bearzi foundry in Italy, the article in the Perry Daily Journal, Jan. 31, 1969, notes that the piece was cast at the Roman Bronze Works in New York.
