Sculpture consists of a base of many layers tapered up to a high-relief portrait bust of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole which is mounted inside an alcove-like structure. The figure wears a flat-brimmed hat.

Site of the sculpture is the birthplace of Prince Kuhio, Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole (1871-1922), who was the Hawaiian delegate to Congress, 1902-1922. Prince Kuhio Park also known as Kuhio Memorial Park.
