    Description: 
    The bronze figure of Ulysses S. Grant in full uniform sitting astride a horse. Grant, wearing a hat, hold the reins of the horse in his proper left hand, his proper right hand rests at his side. His sword extends from the side of his uniform to below the belly of the horse. This equestrian sculpture sits atop a huge two-story arched stone base. A road runs right through the base of the monument on the first level between the two sets of stairs leading to the second level enclosed area.
