The sculpture depicts an American soldier carrying a male World War II Jewish concentration camp survivor over his proper left arm. The survivor has his proper right arm around the soldier's neck, his proper left arm and legs hang limply, his head hangs back. He wears a torn jacket with the Star of David on it, and the jacket is unbuttoned exposing the man's emaciated body. The jacket sleeve on his proper left arm is pulled up slightly, revealing a tattooed serial number. He is barefoot and his proper left pant leg is torn at the knee. The soldier is in battle fatigues, wearing a helmet and boots. The sculpture has a brown-green patina and is mounted on a rectangular base.
