    Description: 
    Bas-relief of two nude figures, one male and one female, set high above a building entry. The female figure is on the left. She is reclining and leans on her proper left arm which rests on a stack of books. Beside her legs are the top of a column and a scrolled piece of paper. On the right is the male figure. He is reclining and leans on his proper right elbow on a stack of three books. In his proper right hand he holds a compass. His proper left hand rests on a globe. Several scrolls of paper are near his feet. Between the two figures is an oval shield draped in foliage.
