    Description: 
    An upright, shaft with a peaked top, with all sides rough except the front of the shaft and top of the base. On the front of the shaft is a bas-relief of an eagle with outstretched wings, standing before a sword on top of arrows and olive branches. Inscriptions are below the relief.

    The memorial has been moved approximately twenty-five yards back. IAS files contain transcription of nearby marker and a related article from The Elberton Star, Nov. 11, 1938, which discusses the dedication ceremonies.
