Description:
Standing figure of a miner wearing a miner's helmet with a lamp on it, cover-alls, miner boots, and a utility belt. He holds a pick-axe in both hands. A bronze plaque on the front of the base depicts in relief a mine, miners at work, a mine shaft, coal cars, a steam shovel, and a dump truck, along with a scroll containing text.
