Description:
A bronze bas-relief plaque depicting a cavalry soldier preparing to mount his horse, set on front of peaked granite marker. On the rear of the marker is a square State of Pennsylvania seal. The marker is mounted upon a rough-cut, two-block base.

The monument commemorates the involvement of Pennsylvania's 9th "Lochiel" Veteran Cavalry, 1st Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Army of the Cumberland at the Battle of Chickamauga during the Civil War. It was placed by the State of Pennsylvania. SOS! survey lists the
