    Description: 
    A flared granite marker with a bronze relief plaque on the front depicting a Civil War battle scene. Soldiers with rifles are in the lower foreground against a wooded background. On the back of the marker is a medallion of the Ohio State seal. The marker has a cap with scrolling on each corner, and is mounted upon a rectangular, two-block, rock-faced base.

    Remarks: 
    The monument commemorates the involvement of the 18th Ohio Infantry, Stanley's Brigade, Negley's Division, Thomas' Corps at the Battle of Chickamauga during the Civil War. It was placed by the State of Ohio. Sculptor for the Ohio State seal was Charles Henry Niehaus. IAS files contain copy of Georgia Historic Resources 1988 form, Historic Preservation Section, Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The monument is on the National Park List of Classified Structures No. 03030.
