    Remarks:
To create the reliefs, the artist used actual castings of beach materials. The reliefs refer to the history of Boston's Charles River Basin which was once a back bay tidal flat opening to the sea. The reliefs were commissioned by the City of Cambridge through the Cambridge Arts Council's Percent for Art Program. IAS files contain an article from the Cambridge Arts Council's newsletter, ArtsLine, and an excerpt from David Phillips' "Sculpture by David Phillips," 1993.
