    Description: 
    Four apostles set in four shallow niches above the doors to the main entrance of the cathedral. All figures stand in a frontal position, dressed in long garments highlighted by deep folds in the draping. Each apostle bears a halo behind his head and is wearing sandals. From the proper right side stands St. James holding a pilgrim staff in his proper left hand and a pomegranate in his proper right hand; there is a sword at his proper right leg. St. Andrew stands to the proper left of St. James and has his arms crossed over his chest. St. Peter stands to the proper left of St. Andrew and is holding keys in his proper left hand. There is an upside down cross next to his proper right leg. St. John stands, with proper left palm open facing front. An eagle stands by his proper right side.

    Remarks: 
    Four of twelve planned statues created by Mrs. Rosalie Young Persons, a member of St. Andrew's Cathedral. St. Andrew and St. Peter were cast in bronze using the lost-wax method by the foundry Giovanni and Angelo Nicci. IAS files include detailed donor information on each statue.
