    Description: 
    An equestrian portrait of General William F. Draper dressed in his Civil War military uniform is mounted atop a oblong base. Draper is holds the horse's reins in his proper left hand and a glove in his proper right hand. A low stone seat surrounds the lower part of the base.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was a gift to the Town of Milford by Mrs. W. F. (Susan Preston) Draper. The total cost of the sculpture was $50,000. The sculpture was created by French and the setting was designed by Bacon. Norcross Brothers created the base. IAS files contain an article from the Middlesex News, Sept. 11, 1989; excerpts from articles appearing in the Milford Daily News, Aug. 23, 1910 and the Milford Daily Journal, Oct. 23, 1910; a copy of the contract; and a copy of the program from the rededication.
