Description:
Multi-green colored spire which begins as fluted columns at the 5 stepped base, becomes an industrial columned structure about 1/3 of the way up and a spiral pole with Arabic-style dome at top.

Remarks:
According to the artist, "The towers reflect the architectural past of the city in totems, stacked with fragments of Victorian, Neo-Classical and Constructivist elements specific to historic Denver." The sculpture was commissioned for $11,875. It is one of two spires created by the artist for the Lower Downtown Historic District. (See also Union Spire, IAS record 66240003). Both were commissioned by the Denver Commission of Cultural Affairs One Percent for Art program. IAS files contain Accession Sheet, and copies of artist's statement (Robiochan Gallery, 5/92) on his spire exhibition, and clippings from Denver Post, April 29, 1990 and Westword, June 24-30, 1992.
