    Description: 
    A bronze relief plaque portraying Civil War soldiers firing artillery pieces is mounted on the front of a granite marker topped with a artillery tube. The marker is mounted upon a rectangular, sloping base with the State of Ohio seal on the front. The bottom edge of the base is rough-edged.

    Remarks: 
    The monument commemorates the involvement of Battery C, 1st Ohio Light Artillery, Croxton's Brigade, Brannan's Division, 14th Army Corps at the Battle of Chickamauga during the Civil War. It was placed by the State of Ohio and veterans. It marks the position held by the regiment during the battle. The relief plaque was designed by A. M. Willard, sculpted by A. O'Connor, and cast by the Henry Bonnard Bronze Company. The State of Ohio seal was sculpted by Charles Henry Niehaus. IAS files contain: a copy of Georgia Historic Resources 1988 form, Historic Preservation Section, Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The monument is on the National Park Service List of Classified Structures No. 03053. IAS files contain a copy of the LCS report form.
