    Description: 
    A bronze relief plaque depicting a Civil War battle scene is mounted on the front of a commemorative granite marker. Above the plaque is a decorated, flared cap topped with a large, polished granite acorn. Centered within the cap is the State of Ohio seal. Both sides of the marker have plain, polished panels with rough edges. The marker is mounted upon a rectangular, sloping, rough-cut base.

    Remarks: 
    The monument commemorates the involvement of the 33rd Ohio Infantry, Colonel Oscar F. Moore commanding, Scribner's Brigade, Baird's Division, 14th Army Corps at the Battle of Chickamauga during the Civil War. It was placed by the State of Ohio. The monument was erected by E. F. Carr & Company. The relief plaque was sculpted by A. O'Connor and was cast by the Henry Bonnard Bronze Company. The State of Ohio seal was sculpted by Charles Henry Niehaus. IAS files contain: a copy of Georgia Historic Resources 1988 form, Historic Preservation Section, Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The monument is on the National Park Service List of Classified Structures No. 03044. IAS files contain a copy of the LCS report form.
