Description:
The
monument
is a tapered shaft on a tiered rough-hewn base. It has an apexed cap and relief of an eagle with wings spread at the cornice. There are recessed plaques on three sides of the shaft, near the bottom. There are also reliefs of the
New
York State Seal and a crescent corps insignia near the cornice.

marks one of the positions taken by the 157th
New
York Infantry in the 11th Corps line before being moved toward the center of the line. The
monument
is listed on the National Park Service List of Classified Structures (referred to as MN 59) and is referenced in the Gettysburg National Military Park Archives, vol. 25. IAS files contain a copy of the LCS report form.
