Remarks:
Funding for the sculptural walkway project, which cost $11,000 to complete, came from the Kansas Arts Commission, Amy Fretz memorial fund, Colgate-Palmolive, and the Rosedale Sharing Community. Amy Fretz, who spent most of her life in a wheelchair, died at age 7. The sculpture was conceived with disabled children in mind, especially those confined to wheelchairs. IAS files contain "Proposal for a Sculpture," presented to the Rosedale Sharing Community by the artist; invitation to the dedication; and related articles from KC Business Journal, May 10, 1991, and Rosedale Sharing Community Newsletter, June and July 1991.
