Born June 24, 1840 in Chester Township, Wayne County, Ohio and died on Feb. 24, 1915. The son of David R. Firestone, Sr. and Elizabeth Rice. In 1872 married Emaline Emrich, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Emrich.

David R. Firestone Jr. (1840-1915), prominent Wooster Township farmer who, besides general farming, raised and sold cattle and sheep. He served as a trustee of the Wayne County Childrens Home. During the Civil War he enlisted in the120th O.V.I. and served six months. He was captured in Arkansas and was a prisoner for two months, was exchanged, and later discharged. He died in 1915.
