    Lincoln stands with his proper right arm raised as if gesturing to a crowd. His proper left arm is at his side, and he holds papers or a book in his proper left hand. He wears a knee-length coat and is bearded. He stands with his feet apart.

    The sculpture was supposedly once christened by Mary Todd Lincoln. Per an area resident, Abe Lincoln "occassionally stopped at this cemetery to have his lunch on his way to Vandalia, then Capital of Illinois."
