Description:
A robed female stands on multi-tiered shaft with her head bowed, leaning against a cross, her proper right arm wrapped around it with her hand coming over the top of the crossbeam. Garlands of flowers encircle the top tier of the shaft beneath the figure and the cross. The shaft is also decorated with arch-shaped text panels and foliage. The entire memorial is set upon a short, multi-sided base.

Remarks:
Sculpture marks the grave of Jacob Reider. Born in Zurich in 1776, Reider came to Little Rock in 1828 and became a prominent merchant, before his death in 1861. IAS files contain a transcription of Mr. Rider's obituary from the True Democrat (Arkansas), Aug. 1, 1861, pg. 2.
