Remarks:
The sculpture was commissioned under Baltimore Percent for Art Program. The school, originally known as the Westside Skill Center when it was completed in 1982, was designed by David McCracken of the architectural firm of Basco Associates of Baltimore. The artist was selected by Basco Associates. For related information see Henry and Caroline Naylor's "Public Monuments & Sculpture of Baltimore: An Introduction to the Collection," 1987, pg. 27. IAS files contain an excerpt from the brochure "Maryland State Arts Council Visual Arts Resource Center Artist Slide Registry," produced by the Maryland State Arts Council.
