Inscription:  (On back of base:) co rg/1944 (On back of memorial:) Dedicated: June 16, 1946/designer Robert Girven/builders Monti & Rossi (On front of cap beam, incised:) IN HONOR/OF/THE MEMBERS/LODGE MILFORD - V.E. III NO. 356/WHO SERVED IN WORLD WAR II (On front of each column are listed names of those who served) (Perimeter of roundel below globe:) LIBERTA UGUAGLIANZA FRATELLANZA (Under the lion on the roundel:) O. F'DI. IN A./No. 1356 signed Description:  Memorial consists of two square columns surmounted by a beam cap. In front of this is a shorter column which holds a polished globe depicting the western hemisphere. The memorial rests on a stone base. On either side of the lettering on the cap beam is a relief of an eagle. Below the globe, in a roundel, is a relief of a lion striding forward to the proper left. It was then located at the entrance to Hayward Field at the Italian Veterans Lodge Building (Italian American War Veterans) Post 40, off of Meade Street, before being relocated to its current site.
