    Remarks: 
    The fountain was created in conjunction with Boston University's Environmental Awareness Program, which, in 1975, launched a plan to build a series of mini-parks around the urban campus. The fountain was the artist's first work for Boston University. One nearby plaque reads: THIS FOUNTAIN/DONATED BY/THE FOX FAMILY/FOUNDATION/MAURICE FOX CBA '32. Another nearby plaque reads: PEAK TYPE FOUNTAIN/BY EDWARD MONTI/This 8 ton fountain was/hollowed out of a 12 ton/piece of Connecticut granite./The carving was done with a special technique developed/by Mr. Monti, that involves/a process using a jet flame/at 4000 degrees Fahrenheit./A gift to Boston University/from the alumni. IAS files contain a related article from The Patriot Ledger (Massachusetts), June 7, 1979, pg. 31.
