    Description: 
    A standing figure of a uniformed Civil War sentry is mounted atop a square pedestal. He wears a cap and greatcoat and holds his rifle vertically with both hands, the stock resting by his feet. The pedestal is mounted upon a circular base of rough-edged limestone blocks, with a domed top. The base is flanked on each side by a spiral stairway.
