    Description: 
    A figure of a Civil War soldier, dressed in a military uniform that includes a brimmed hat, stands against a low tree trunk at his proper left side holding the barrel of a rifle with his proper right hand, the butt rests by his feet. The figure is placed atop an inscribed tall shaft that is decorated around its midsection with various reliefs including crossed cannons and crossed flags. The top of the shaft is decorated with a castellated design. The figure and shaft are placed on a two-tiered base.
