    Description: 
    Figure of a Civil War soldier standing at parade rest on a tall granite shaft. He wears a uniform, consisting of a long coat and cap, and holds the barrel of a rifle with both hands. The butt of the gun rests in front of his proper right foot. Four cannons were originally arranged at the corners of the base (two now missing).

    IAS files contain related articles from Waukesha Freeman, Nov. 21, 1911 and 1964, Waukesha Dispatch Sept. 23, 1911, as well as relevant entries from the Proceedings of the Board of Supervisors of Waukesha County, 56th Annual Session (1901). Monument was funded by the Soldiers' Monument Association of Waukesha County, which was organized and chartered in 1886. Cost of monument was $3,600.
