    Description: 
    Fountain sculpture comprised of five elements - a young nude boy standing with arms outstretched, head turned upward, with a gull perched on his proper right palm. He stands on a granite boulder in fountain pool, facing four bronze fish who are balanced upright on their tails, spouting water towards the boy. Both the fish and the boy have a green bronze coloring.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture cost $5,500 and was donated by Mrs. Harriet Mitchell Fladoes in memory of her husband Martin, who died in 1961 at the age of 65. He was the board chairman and former president of Sivyer Steel Casting Co. Nearby plaque reads: IN MEMORY OF/MARTIN ALFRED FLADOES/DONATED BY/HARRIET MITCHELL FLADOES/1964 A.D. JOSEPH A. MCDONNELL/SCULPTOR.
    The sculpture is lit at night. IAS files contain articles from Milwaukee Journal dated Nov. 18, 1964 and Nov. 26, 1964, and from the Milwaukee Sentinel, April 19, 1965. For further reading see: Mayor's Beautification Committee: "Milwaukee's Fountain Program," (Milwaukee, WI), n.d., pg. 19.
