Remarks:
The painting was destroyed in a fire caused by lightning at Riverview Plantation, the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Whitfield Bird, on June 18, 2016.
Capt. Archibald Bruce McEachin (1837-1909) was the son of Peter and Maria (McQueen) McEachin. In 1861 he married Eudora Somerville. He was an attorney and President of the Alabama Bar Association from 1891-1892, as well as a Captain in the 6th Alabama Cavalry, C. S. A., and Quartermasters Department.
