Description:
A portrait of General George Rogers Clark holding a sword in his proper right hand and motioning his troops forward with his raised proper left hand. He is dressed in his military uniform and carries a scabbard on his proper left side. Oh his head he wears a three-cornered hat.

Remarks:
This sculpture honors a hero of the frontier, General George Rogers Clark who led a small band of soldiers to capture the town of Vincennes from the British. The sculpture is installed on the northwest side of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument. IAS files contain copy of a brochure entitled "Step into the Proud Past, Visitor's Guide, Indiana Soldiers' & Sailors' Monument, State of Indiana, n.d; and an article from The Indianapolis Star, February 6, 1955.
