    Remarks:
This statue is a recast of the original created in 1872. Buberl modeled the likeness based on a portrait by John Wesley Jarvis. The original statue was first installed at the Brooklyn Ferry House in 1872, but it subsequently disappeared. Years later, members of the Old Brooklynites discovered it in a junk pile, and in 1930 the statue was erected in Fulton Park. When the statue was installed, it was placed on a stone base inscribed on the front with just the name Fulton. In 1932, a bronze plaque (now appears to be missing) was added to the back of the base and an unveiling ceremony was held on October 15, 1932. The inscription on the bronze plaque read: "Erected in Memory of Robert Fulton, Father of the Steamboat, Fulton Ferry House, October 15, 1872, Relocated at Fulton Park, November 14, 1930, by the Society of Old Brooklynites." According to the SOS! survey, the sculpture was originally cast in zinc, but was replaced in 1955 by a Roman Bronze Works cast. Files at the Brooklyn Historical society contain material on this sculpture.
