San Mateo Historical Society files have related news clippings and copy of deed. "The deed, dated March 30, 1858, transferred 59,000 acres, for the sum of one dollar, from Soledad O. de Arguello, Jose Ramon Arguello, and S. M. Mezes to John B. Weller, Governor of California. The news clipping states that Angel Acosta urged the Bicentennial Commission to erect a bust of Soledad de Arguello in recognition of her generosity. The land was part of Rancho de las Pulgas, granted to Don Jose de Arguello by Mexico in 1835."
