    Description: 
    A fountain assembled out of large boulders, the largest with a squared-off flat bottom situated atop a base of other rocks with water flowing over the space where they join. A 20 inch high circular wall assembled out of a variety of stones forms a basin around the main boulders.

    Remarks: 
    Fountain was funded through City's One Percent for Art program. The pocket park was created by stonemasons Thomas Lipps and George Gonzales. IAS files contain photocopy from Santa Fean Magazine, Jan/Feb. 1990, pg. 44-48, which discusses public art programs in Santa Fe. Work is popularly known as Hamburger Rock. Plaque on structure near fountain reads: CITY OF SANTA FE/1% FOR ART IN PUBLIC PLACES/FOUNTAINHEAD/ROCK PLACE/1987-1988/DEDICATED TO WATER, TO ROCK/TO THE ART OF STONECRAFT AND/THE SOURCE OF INSPIRATION/BY THOMAS LIPPS/GEORGE GONZALES, MICHEL GIANNESINI/TOMAS ROMERO AND OTHERS/C.I.P. NO. 2002.
