    Remarks:
The sculpture was originally installed outside the "old" St. Joseph's Church on Main Street in Belmont. It was installed in 1966 in memory of Father Arthur Massicotte, who died November 14, 1965. Massicotte was the first pastor of St. Joseph's Church. The sculpture was purchased for $873 from the Laconia Monument Company, which imported it from Italy. In 1990, when the new church was built, the sculpture was moved to its current site. IAS files contain a related excerpt from Wallace P. Rhodes' "Reminiscences of a New Hampshire Town, The Belmont Centennial 1869-1969," pg. 57-58; information from "For The Glory Of God" (May 13, 1990), and a dedication program for the new St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
