Description:
The figure of Lincoln, seated in a chair, rests on a raised pedestal. Lincoln sits with both feet firmly planted in front of him; one arm rests on the chair's arm, and one hand rests on his thigh thus arching his arm. The chair bears the Presidential seal.

Remarks:
See IAS files for copies of the San Francisco Chronicle articles, and the Pacific Gas and Electric Magazine. Work was purchased by public subscription to replace a statue by P. Mazarra of Lincoln that was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake. The new sculpture was dedicated on Lincoln's birthday in 1928.
