    Description: 
    The minuteman is portrayed as a colonial blacksmith dressed in a heavy work apron and standing by his anvil and hammer. He cradles his musket in his proper left arm and fills it with gunpowder held in his proper right hand.

    Remarks: 
    The monument was commissioned by the Town of Framingham and the Framingham Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In 1925, the monument was rotated and moved slightly when a traffic rotary was constructed. IAS files contain a copy of the Massachusetts Historical Commission Form C - Monuments questionnaire dated Jan. 23, 1980. Additional information is available at the Framingham Historical Society, P.
