    Description: 
    The monument consists of a central granite column that is topped by a heroic bronze female figure representing Utica. The column is adorned around the base with two bronze female figures representing Peace and Victory and two bronze male figures representing the Navy and the Army. Encircling the middle of the column is a bronze relief depicting scenes of volunteers leaving home to join the war, soldiers in battle, and soldiers returning home from the war.
