H. 25 ft. x W. 6 ft. Inscription:  unsigned Description:  A farmer wears a cap and heavy coat holds an ear of corn and a corn stalk. Part of the corn is eaten away by corn borers which are visible on the ear. Two chickens stand at the farmer's feet. Subject:  Figure male -- Full length Occupation -- Farm Homage -- Boeke, August Portrait male -- Anders, Hank -- Full length Animal -- Bird -- Chicken Animal -- Insect Object Type:  Outdoor Sculpture -- Iowa -- Hubbard Sculpture Owner:  Boeke, Robert, 29503 U. S. Highway 65, Hubbard, Iowa 50122 Remarks:  Commissioned by Robert Boeke as a tribute to his grandfather, August Boeke, a farmer who planted the tree from which the sculpture is carved. The figure was modelled after Hank Anders, a local citizen. The tree was killed after being struck by lightning in 1991. Rather than remove the stump, Mr. Boeke commissioned the sculpture.
