    Description: 
    Bronze commemorative marker with a bas-relief portrait of George Washington. The portrait, which depicts Washington from the neck up, is at the top center of the marker and is surrounded by a bas-relief ring of stars. The rectangular marker is mounted directly on the side of a building.

    Remarks: 
    The marker was erected in 1932 in commemoration of the visit of George Washington to Kingston on Nov. 16, 1782. Funds for the marker were raised by subscription initiated by A. T. Clearwater. IAS files contain copy of related church brochure, which gives title as "Bicentennial Tablet". IAS files contain copy of dedication ceremony invitation and related correspondence.
