    Nearby plaque reads: WOODFIN HOUSE/Nicholas W. Woodfin, pioneer lawyer,/agricultural innovator, and state senator,/completed his home on the opposite corner in/1840. Dr. James A. Burroughs, tuberculosis/specialist, later resided there. Other/occupants included Asheville School for/Girls, Asheville High School, and the/YMCA. The building, which was enlarged in/1922 by the YMCA, was razed in 1970./Placed in memory of Henry T. Collins, first YMCA President,/by Eleanor Collins Sawyer and family. IAS files contain a pamphlet "Downtown Asheville: The Asheville Urban Trail," City of Asheville, Downtown Development Office, n.d.
