Description:
A series of five relief panels located high on the north and west sides of a building. The first panel is entitled "FIDES" and depicts a monk holding a cross; a dove hovers overhead and rays shine down. The second panel, entitled "INTELLECTUS", depicts a monk holding a flaming torch aloft; rays from the torch shine down. The third panel, entitled "ORA", depicts a hooded monk holding an open book. The fourth panel, entitled "ECCE LEX", depicts St. Bede. He has a halo and is bearded. In his proper left hand he holds a tablet. His proper right hand points to the tablet. The fifth panel, entitled "LABORE", depicts a monk in work clothes. He holds a chisel in his hand.
