    Description: 
    Full-length figure of a Civil War soldier. He wears a uniform and cap. He grasps the hilt of a sword with his proper right hand; the sword hangs on his proper left side. He holds a furled United States flag against his proper left side. The end of the flagpole rests on the ground beside him. The bronze figure stands atop granite base.
