    Description: 
    Two young African-American girls stand in the immediate foreground of a cotton field. The girl on the left carries a basket of cotton, balancing it against her hip and she reaches down to pick cotton. The girl on the right, stands tall, gazing into the distance. She holds a bag of cotton, slung over her left shoulder, with both hands. Both girls are wearing bonnets and the girl on the right is wearing an apron over her dress.
