    Description: 
    Full-length bronze figure of Abraham Lincoln seated in a chair with leather upholstery and wooden carved arms, atop a multitiered granite base. He wears a buttoned vest with small lapels, bow tie, rolled shirt collar and boots. His coat is unbuttoned. His proper right arm is on the arm of the chair and his proper right hand is resting on his lap. His proper left hand holds papers which are resting on his lap. His proper left leg is crossed over his proper right leg. On the back of the chair, the leather is creased and embossed an eagle with a flag over its center. There is a relief of a laurel wreath on the front of the base.

    Remarks: 
    Presented to the City of Muskegon by Charles H. Hackley, who contributed $27.000 for the purchase of memorials to Lincoln, Grant, Sherman and Farragut. The sculpture arrived in Muskegon in April 1900 and was kept under wraps until it was dedicated on Memorial Day, 1900. IAS files contain a citation to "Lincoln, Grant, Sherman, Farragut,": Chronicle Presses, 1900.
