    Bust portrait of Simon Snyder set atop a square base with four corner pillars and bronze relief plaques. The plaques depict scenes of a tanner, a farmer plowing, and images related to the War of 1812.

    The monument marks the grave of Pennsylvania governor Simon Snyder (1759-1819). The memorial was authorized sixty-two years after his death by the State Legislature, with an appropriation of $3,000 approved on May 24, 1881.
