Inscription:  (Front of base:) LEST WE FORGET/IN MEMORY/OF ALL SOLDIERS AND SAILORS/LOYAL TO THE FLAG/ERECTED BY RENO COUNTY 1918 unsigned Description:  Abraham Lincoln stands atop tall shaft with four Union military figures around the base. The figures are installed one at each corner: an infantryman holding his rifle stands at parade rest; an artilleryman holding a cannon plunger stands at attention; a cavalryman drawing his sword; and a sailor holding a bugle. The shaft is decorated with garlands of vines. The total cost of the monument was $20,500. The Hutchinson Monument Works, in association with Hugh A. Price of Chicago submitted the winning design for the monument.
