    Description: 
    Standing figure of a nude female partially draped from the waist down. She holds the cloth which drapes her in her proper left hand. She also holds a cluster of grapes in each of her hands. Her head is turned to her proper left. The pedestal on which she stands is placed in the center of a quatrefoil reflecting basin.

    (On plaque in floor of courtyard in front of fountain:) POMONA/GODDESS OF VINEYARDS AND ORCHARDS/BY/DONATELLO GABBRIELLI/1884-1955/THIS NOTED ITALIAN SCULPTOR INTENDED THE/STATUE TO REPRESENT THE SUSTENANCE AND/RICHNESS THAT COMES FROM THE EARTH. FROM/THIS ORIGINAL MODEL ONLY TWO FIGURES HAVE/EVER BEEN MADE -- THIS BRONZE CASTING AND/A MARBLE CARVING THAT STANDS IN THE KING'S/PALACE, BANGKOK, THAILAND. IAS files contain copies from Piland, Sherry, and Ellen J. Uguccioni, "Fountains of Kansas City: A History and Love Affair," Kansas City: City of Fountains Foundation, 1985, pg. 253, 255-256, which discusses the fountain as focal point of the courtyard in which it is located. The courtyard was designed by McArthur, Jarchow & Associates. The fountain was imported from Italy.
    In 2004, Kansas City Adopt A Monument reported that all sculptures owned by the J. C. Nichols company should be changed to Highwoods Property.
