Four helmeted winged angels extend out from the columns, separating the bowl into four sections. Each carved section depicts an event in the life of Christ; the Nativity, Crucifixion, Entombment and Ascension.

    Remarks:
Registered with the National Register of Historic Places, 1988. The Eltons were a prominent Waterbury family who owned the Elton, the principal downtown hotel. The inscription suggests that the base may date from the dedication of the cemetery in 1853. It appears, without the bronze figures and vase, in a picture in an 1889 cemetery publication.
