    Description: 
    Portrait of Abraham de Peyster seated on straight back chair. He wears full-length judicial robes and wig, and knee-length boots. Under his robes he is wearing a dress coat and ruffled shirt. His proper right hand rests on his thigh; his proper left hand reaches across his chest and holds a scroll. At his proper right side, his hat is under his robe and rests on the base. On the back of the statue there are three large books and a scroll resting on the base.
