Description:
Full-length standing figure of Hope wearing a cloak and long-sleeved dress. Her arms cross at the wrists in front of her waist. The proper left hand holds a rope attached to a waist-high anchor aligned along her proper left leg. She wears a headdress with a star and stands on a multitiered base with an oval, bas-relief bust, perhaps of James H. Hornibrook, on its front. He wears period dress and no beard. The bust is framed by Corinthian columns forming an arch, with a garland of flowers beneath the relief.
